UK veterinary group Medivet is already counter-attacking the findings of Panorama’s programme ‘It shouldn’t happen at a vet’s practice’ which is yet to be showed to the public.
The BBC’s investigation – which will be broadcasted on Thursday 22nd July in an hour long episode of Panorama – allegedly revealed poor treatment of animals and questionable vet bills at one of the UK’s biggest veterinary practice group, Medivet.
The group has already posted its defence on its public website as well as on Youtube. It blames Panorama for “harassing its clients with a view to obtaining their comments on video”, for refusing to show any footage, being “sensationalist” and “negative”.
Medivet also posted two customer complaints about the BBC and Panorama, one being a Youtube video. The customer claimed that Panorama was “secretive about the way they went about”. She said she was happy to participate though as she’s “a great supporter of Medivet and knowing what a great practice they are” and wanted to “stand up for them [Medivet]“.

The programme is sure to create the same discussion and controversy as “Pedigree Dogs Exposed” which lifted the lid on health and welfare problems in pedigree dogs in the UK and any responsibility of the Kennel Club.
Tune in Thursday 22nd July at 9pm on BBC One.
