Is Argos Platinum cover lifetime pet insurance?

Still taking part in discussion on www.petforums.co.uk and a question that arises quite often is: is Argos pet insurance Platinum cover true lifetime pet insurance (also called lifelong)? Some people seem to think that it isn’t while actually it is – but only for the Platinum policy. It is really confusing. So I thought I’d do a bit of prevention and clear things out before you buy a product that isn’t exactly what you may need.

With time limited cover Silver and Gold, you have a limited time and amount of money available for each illness or accident. Once you have spent your money on a broken leg for instance, then no further claim can be submitted for treating that leg, and the condition becomes excluded from the policy.

On the contrary, Platinum lifetime/lifelong pet insurance will give you £7,000 in vet fees per year. The limit is per year but when you renew it goes back to the original amount of £7,000, meaning that you always have money available to treat an ongoing illness. If you carry on renewing, conditions will not get excluded once you start claiming, hence providing cover for the lifetime of your pet. With lifetime pet insurance you can claim as long as you need to.

Argos Platinum is a great cover and cheap too

If you’re looking to buy Argos Platinum cover, no worries, it should be still affordable. Lifetime cover is generally more expensive than other types of cover because it simply covers just more. In pet insurance you really get what you pay for, i.e. the more expensive, the more comprehensive (generally speaking!).
