Meet Real Pets and Owners #1: Cookie and Laura

A new section is being introduced today with the help of Laura and her dog Cookie: Meet Real Pets and Owners.

In 5 quick questions, we’re looking at the reasons why people choose to buy pet insurance and why they decide to go with one company rather than another.

Question 1: Tell us a bit about your dog Cookie.

Laura: My dog is a teacup chihuahua, very cute and tiny. He’s 17 weeks, really come into his little character. He’s cheeky, gorgeous and so good for his age (he’s sat with me now licking me!).

Question 2: Why did you decide to buy insurance?

I decided on insurance because he’s my first dog. Chihuahua’s can also have a few health problems, as all little dogs can. Also because of his breed he was quite expensive!

Question 3: What’s important for you in a pet insurance policy?

I like to know what I’m getting in pet insurance and while a lot only cover conditions for a year, then if the condition lasts more than a year, you’re no longer covered for that condition. Whereas some other cover the condition for the life of your doggy.

Question 4: Which company did you choose?

I chose M&S (Marks & Spencers).

Question 5: Why?

Because it had all I needed and was a nice cheap price compared to other pet insurance companies.
