The importance of buying pet insurance has once again been demonstrated by the real-life storie of Song and her £3,286 pacemaker.

Song’s, a spaniel retriever, has been fitted with a pacemaker in order to save her life. Suffering from a life-threatening low heart rate, Song, only aged 18 months, had to resolve to an electronic device worth £3,286. Luckily, her owners Bob and Laurie Austin’s dog insurance covered the cost of treatment. Mr Austin commented: “There were a few tears at the time but we’ve got our Song back now.”.

With pet health insurance, you don’t have to worry about the cost of vet bills when it comes to treat your dog. You can relax, safe in the knowledge that you:

won’t have to make heartbreaking decisions like putting your pet to sleep should they require veterinary care.
won’t have to think twice about visiting your practice.
won’t have to go into debt either.

It doesn’t have to be expensive. You can get cheap pet insurance, per condition or 12-month cover, from just under £6 a month. If you’re looking for the comprehensive option, compare lifelong pet insurance and ongoing conditions will be covered year on year.
