Rabbit insurance
Could you afford to pay the vet bills if your rabbit were to suffer an accident or develop a condition that requires urgent and expensive care? Luckily, rabbit insurance is now available, same as for dogs and cats, but only from a few pet insurance companies, including Britain’s No 1 Petplan, and Helpucover.

Benefits of rabbit insurance
|
Veterinary fees – should you rabbit require treatment, your insurance would help you pay the bills (within the limits of your cover). Since rabbits are really sensitive in their teeth, check whether dental treatment will be cover for illnesses or accidents only. Some insurers also impose that your rabbit has an annual dental check up, so always read the small prints. |

Helpucover additional benefits
Both Petplan and Helpucover provide cover against vet fees, which accounts for the vast majority of claims anyway. Helpucover however offer more benefits:
- Rabbit boarding fees - should you go into hospital, the insurer would pay for boarding fees for your pet.
- Advertising and reward – should your rabbit go missing, the insurer would pay for advertising and reward fees.
- Premium waiver – exclusively available from Helpucover, if you couldn’t afford to pay the premium because of involuntary unemployment or an accident, the insurer would pay up to 6 months of your premium for you.
